Returner Scenario: Enrollment Coach

Returners play an important role in our organization since new Service Corps members often look to them for advice and support as they navigate challenges that are new to them, but which returning members may have experienced in their first term of service. This scenario is designed to give us a sense of how you might respond in this position.

Imagine that you are a returner and you receive the following email from a new Service Corps member shortly after the term of service begins:

Hi Returning Coach,

I have a question for you: I’ve been working with a number of students on their College Possible applications. Most of the students have been pretty easy to reach, but I have a couple students who seemed really excited at first, but have quit responding to my attempts to get their application materials. They are so close to done and would be a great fit for the program! I’ve tried calling and texting them, but I don’t get a response. It’s frustrating, but I want to make sure they are able to be in the program if they want next year. Any tips on how I can get them to complete the application?
