Director of Admissions - University of Minnesota Twin Cities, School of Social Work
Zer Vang is the Director of Admissions at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ School of Social Work. She is the primary lead for all graduate admissions and alumni relations for the School of Social Work.
Prior to joining the School of Social Work, she served in the College of Liberal Arts – President’s Emerging Scholars Program as an Academic Advisor serving over 200 students whom many were first generation college students. She has also spent time at the University of Minnesota serving as an Admissions Counselor in undergraduate admissions, College Possible, and LearningWorks: A Breakthrough Program. She also served on the College of Education and Human Development’s Alumni Society Board of Directors from 2012-2016 and currently serves on the College Possible Minnesota Board. She is also a proud alumna of College Possible.
She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Family Social Science and her Masters of Social Work degree (concentration in Community Organizing & Advocacy) at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is continuing her education in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development with a focus in Higher Education (Ph.D.) at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She lives in Oakdale with her husband and son.
