High School

High School

In our high school program, students attend after-school sessions for two hours twice a week throughout their junior and senior years of high school. Over the course of these two years, students participate in more than 320 hours of programming in a supportive group of college-bound peers. Coaches implement an interactive curriculum designed to guide students through the key aspects of preparing for college.

We have partnered with high schools in and around Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Omaha, Philadelphia, Portland and St. Paul to serve students.

Summer Bridge

Each year across the United States, 20-40 percent of high school students accepted into a college or university fail to enroll. Yet across College Possible’s six sites, 93 percent of high school students who take part in one of our Summer Bridge programs go on to enroll in the college of their choice. How do we achieve such success? Through a focus on diminishing the academic, social and financial barriers that so often derail students from low-income backgrounds.

  • Professional communications
  • Continued financial aid coaching
  • Academic interests and majors
  • Social support systems
  • Academic expectations and responsibilities

Our Results

  • A Harvard evaluation confirmed that College Possible significantly improves low-income students’ chances of enrolling in college.
  • College Possible was the first college success organization to show positive outcomes in a randomized controlled trial, the gold standard of evaluation.
