What drew you to College Possible and why did you apply?
I was looking on the AmeriCorps website for opportunities and this seemed like a great opportunity to use my teaching and management skills in a fun and innovative setting.
What are the highlights of your position?
In my first year, I was responsible for planning and coordinating the high school events as part of the Community Partners Team. Now, as the Human Resources VISTA I am helping to build our processes for recruiting, retaining, and developing the AMAZING people who serve here!
What’s your favorite thing about serving with College Possible?
No day is ever the same. I am part of a critical team that supports the Leadership Team and Corps Members in the important work they do. I get the best of both worlds where I regularly speak with senior leaders in the organization and I also get to interact with students! In this role I feel like I can really make an impact in the way College Possible operates.
What has been a favorite memory from your service with College Possible?
I don’t think I can choose a favorite memory. Every day I learn more from the people I serve with than I have at any other time in my life. I’ve learned about the education gap and the disparities so many students face and that drives me to be a creator of change. I think my favorite memory will be when I’m established in my career and I look back on this experience and see how it propelled me to do great things.
What would you say to someone considering serving with College Possible?
This is the BEST place to start your career. I can think of no other place where this many idealistic and energetic people can work together for an important mission.
