Katie is the Vice President of Litigation at Assurant Health. In this role, she oversees all litigation for the company, which primarily consists of first-party medical insurance bad faith claims in state and federal courts across the country. She also advises the business on risk mitigation matters. Prior to her time at Assurant, Katie was an Associate in Foley & Lardner’s litigation department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing (2002) and a juris doctorate (2005), both from Marquette University. She served as Editor in Chief of the Marquette Law Review. After law school, Katie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Diane S. Sykes on the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
In 2011, Governor Walker appointed Katie to serve on the Wisconsin Judicial Selection Advisory Committee. The Committee’s purpose is to help guide Governor Walker’s judicial selection process and ensure that judges of the highest caliber, who share a commitment to the rule of law, are selected to serve Wisconsin.
Katie lives in Whitefish Bay with her husband David. They enjoy sailing in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter.
