Jean Adams joined The Minneapolis Foundation as Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2006. The Minneapolis Foundation manages more than $700 million in assets and distributes, through endowed and donor advised funds, an average of more than $50 million in grants each year. In her VP role, Adams oversaw the functions of finance, human resources, information technology, administrative services and, for three of those years, communications. In 2012, Jean became the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer. With this expanded role came a focus on all internal operations of the Foundation, including ensuring alignment across all departments toward enterprise goals. Prior to joining The Minneapolis Foundation, Jean was Vice President of Operations at the Northwest Area Foundation, Executive Director of the Minnesota Charities Review Council and Vice President/Senior Consultant at The Stevens Group (now part of CliftonLarsonAllen). Jean currently serves on the boards of the Nonprofits Assistance Fund, College Possible Minnesota, The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, and CFLeads, a national network of community foundations committed to building stronger communities through community leadership. She earned her B.A. in Business Administration and a mini-MBA from the University of St. Thomas. She has also completed the Minnesota Management Institute at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
