Edie has served as the College Possible Milwaukee Executive Director since 2011. Under her tenure, the site has grown to serve more than 800 high school and 1,200 college students, with a budget of $2,000,000. College Possible Milwaukee recently received the 2017 Governor’s Service Award for ‘AmeriCorps Program of the Year’ and was designated as a ‘Best Place To Work’ by the Milwaukee Business Journal. Prior to coming to College Possible, Edie served several years as the director of fund development for SHARP Literacy, a Milwaukee nonprofit that helps urban elementary students learn to read and write, and served as vice president of Public Affairs, Marketing & Communication at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC).
Raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Edie came to Milwaukee for college and received her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. She went back to Iowa for graduate school but missed the excitement and old-world charm of Milwaukee, so she returned after receiving her master’s degree in communication at the University of Iowa. She is married with one son, who will graduate from Case Western Reserve University in 2018. In an attempt at leading a balanced life, she carves out time each day to read for pleasure, and she loves the Milwaukee Brewers and opera. She is honored to be part of such a force for good in the education landscape in Milwaukee and the nation.
