What drew you to College Possible and why did you apply?
I wanted to do something both challenging and fulfilling for my first year out of school. College was an amazing growing experience and I wanted to have the chance to be a small part in making that experience possible for others. I knew of some other St. Olaf students that had served with College Possible and they all had amazing experiences…so here I am!
What are the highlights of your position?
Building relationships with the students is the most rewarding. It’s so exciting to have students share their excitement with you about a class, a good grade or even just a fun thing that happened to them that day. It feels like a great privilege to be trusted by the students to not only offer guidance on issues, but also to be trusted as someone just to chat with about life.
What would you say to someone considering serving with College Possible?
This is a very dynamic position. I feel challenged to grow and be creative about how I want to problem solve. Being prepared to be challenged is important, but so is being willing and prepared to be a part of an amazingly supportive community. College Possible is a dive-right-in type of place full of enthusiastic optimism and passion for getting things done, so if that sounds like your cup of tea…join us!
