Community Partners and Organizations
The mission of Communities in Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands provides children facing adversity with strong and eduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Completely KIDS is a nonprofit organization that provides services to children and their families through out-of-school time and family strengthening programs in the communities where they live. These programs focus on youth development, nutrition and healthy meals, academic support and family, and serve primarily the South Omaha community in eight elementary and middle schools, three homeless shelters and at the Completely KIDS building. The organization also provides prevention education programs that use education-theater to teach kids across Douglas and Sarpy counties how to recognize, report and avoid inappropriate interpersonal and online interactions.
The Avenue Scholars program is designed to provide intrusive support for students of talent and need through high school, college and into the workforce. The Avenue Scholars mission is to ensure careers for students of hope and need through education and supportive relationships.
The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring. They currently provide a mentor for over 5,000 youth across Nebraska, Iowa and California.
