College Possible juniors take the ACT – for the FIFTH TIME!

April 14 marks the official ACT exam for juniors across the country
MILWAUKEE–High school juniors across the country will take the official ACT on Saturday, April 14. For more than 150 juniors in the College Possible Milwaukee Class of 2013, this will be old hat. That’s because College Possible students take four ACT prep tests before the “Real Deal.”

College Possible™ seeking students to begin college application process fall 2012
MILWAUKEE– College Possible™ Milwaukee (formerly Admission Possible) is seeking low-income high school sophomores interested in earning a college degree for its after-school college access and success program. Accepted students will begin the program as juniors in the fall of 2012. College Possible Milwaukee currently serves more than 350 high school juniors and seniors. Historically, 98 percent of College Possible students earn admission to college and nearly 80 percent of those who enrolled have graduated from college or are persisting toward a degree.

Seven UW-Madison Alumni join Milwaukee college access program
MILWAUKEE– Seven recent University of Wisconsin-Madison graduates are translating the passions, skills and experiences acquired during their college careers to a year of service with national nonprofit College Possible (formerly Admission Possible). Adi Lev-Er, Minh Mai, Katy Resop, Lia Stratton, Mai Chao Thao, Carolyn Vidmar and Hannah Wrobel are dedicating this year to serving the Milwaukee community as AmeriCorps and VISTA members with College Possible, a nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income high school students achieve college access and success.

College Possible™ celebrates AmeriCorps national service celebration week, March 10-18
MILWAUKEE– Every year in Wisconsin, more than 24,000 individuals dedicate themselves to full-time or part-time service under the banner of a national service program called AmeriCorps that has operated in this country since 1994. Despite its legacy of impact for Wisconsinites, AmeriCorps service remains a relatively misunderstood or unfamiliar program to the general population. AmeriCorps Week – March 10-18 – is a nationwide celebration to draw attention to the program’s community impact.
