Willamette Week honors our own Casey Block

We are thrilled to announce that College Possible Portland program coordinator, Casey Block, has been named one of this year’s Skidmore Prize winners! Each year, Willamette Week honors individuals 35-and-under who do incredible work for Portland’s nonprofit sector.

Program Manager Francisco Bueno notes Casey’s dedication to our team: “Casey is an intelligent, caring and inspirational leader who strives to positively impact her community every day. She has quickly developed expertise in the college access and success field, which, when combined with her superb leadership ability, translates into life-changing outcomes for students.” We could not imagine a candidate more deserving of this prize!

Casey’s honor was the perfect way to kickoff our fundraising campaign in the Willamette Week Give!Guide! Last year was our first year participating in the Give!Guide, and we raised $15,500 from 159 donations. This year, we’re aiming to build on our success: we hope to raise $30,000 between now and December 31st, thanks in part to generous matching gifts from our partners. Together, The Standard and Detwiler Family Foundation will match all donations up to $10,000!

This is where you come in: you can amplify our efforts to reach this important goal. Help us spread the word by sharing our social media posts and emails to your friends, family and coworkers, and be sure to visit to donate today!

Thank you for helping us make college possible!
