MLK Day Omaha

College Possible staff and AmeriCorps members served the community of Omaha for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 21. For some, MLK Day is a day off but for College Possible it is a day ON to give back.

Team members partnered with University of Nebraska Omaha’s Office of Civic and Social Responsibility to volunteer at several Omaha area locations which included Intercultural Senior Center, The Union for Contemporary Art, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Nelson Mandela Elementary School, Midlands Humane Society and Omaha Home for Boys.

“‘Dr. King is quoted saying, ‘Everybody can be great because anybody can serve,’” said Arvin Frazier, College Possible Omaha Executive Director. “Every day, our AmeriCorps members demonstrate service to others and we take pride in the fact we can honor Dr. King’s legacy by serving our amazing community.”
