Milwaukee Launch! 2016

More than 300 College Possible Milwaukee high school students, community supporters and their College Possible coaches came together Saturday, May 7 to celebrate these promising Milwaukee students’ launch into their next year of persistence toward college, as well as celebrate the hard work of the past year.

The high energy and inspiring day encouraged and celebrated College Possible Milwaukee’s low-income and first-generation students who attend 14 Milwaukee high schools through heartfelt speeches prepared by the coaches who have been by their side through ACT preparation, college and scholarship applications over the past year; creative student presentations; keynote speaker Dr. Orlando Ramos, Regional Superintendent of High Schools at Milwaukee Public Schools sharing his own motivational story of succeeding through trials as a low-income student; a scavenger hunt; a tour of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and prizes awarded to students, including a new laptop.
