Life After College

Entrepreneur. Lawyer. Graphic Designer. Engineer. Nurse. These are some of the careers that College Possible high school students dream about when they think ahead to college. In order to help students build connections and gain perspective on their future careers, College Possible has been hosting career panels in partnership with the local business community.

This spring, more than a dozen professionals from a range of industries and organizations visited with College Possible high school students. The panelists talked through their own college experiences and the challenges they overcame to make it where they are now.

Students asked questions about the importance of ACT scores, making friends at college, leaving home and how to choose a major.

The message from panelists was clear: college is tough, but how you navigate those obstacles says more about you than what you major in or where you go to school. Grit, perseverance and resourcefulness play a role in your success just as much as grades and exams.
