Leadership Transition at College Possible Minnesota

After nine years as Minnesota’s executive director, Sara Dziuk is transitioning to the role of chief advancement officer at College Possible National, where she will lead fundraising, marketing and communications for the entire organization. With this transition, Deputy Executive Director Geoff Wilson will become the new executive director of College Possible Minnesota.

“I am thrilled to have Sara join our national leadership team and look forward to collaborating with her to advance our external relations work at the national level, as well as to support College Possible sites in this area,” said College Possible CEO and Founder Jim McCorkell.

Sara joined College Possible in 2010 as executive director of the Twin Cities site. During her tenure, College Possible Minnesota doubled the number of students supported and the amount of revenue raised. The site also launched and expanded programming to serve students throughout the state and has been recognized with several awards, including the Nonprofit Excellence Award from Minnesota Council of Nonprofits in 2013 and Inaugural Eureka Award for Innovation from Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2014.

“Over the past nine years, it has been my honor to lead the Minnesota organization through significant program and fundraising growth,” said Sara. “We’ve built a strong reputation for our organization in this market, identified additional resources and opportunities for our students, built an incredibly talented team and board, and become a statewide organization.”

Geoff Wilson has been with College Possible since January 2012 and has held numerous positions within the organization, including AmeriCorps and VISTA manager and, most recently, deputy executive director of Minnesota. For the past five years, he has played a critical senior leadership role in the Minnesota site.

“Geoff has built strong relationships with external partners, led on key growth initiatives and managed our program work and internal operations,” said Sara. “I am confident that he is the right leader to continue to build College Possible Minnesota’s strong reputation, relationships and programming.”

“I am excited to take on this new role leading the Minnesota site,” said Geoff. “I look forward to working with our fantastic team to increase the number of college graduates, close the degree divide in Minnesota and invest in our state’s future leaders.”
