College Possible CEO and Founder wins Award of Excellence

Jim McCorkell, College Possible’s CEO and founder, was awarded the Executive Leadership Award of Excellence at the National College Access Network’s annual conference on September 19.

The award recognizes 20 years of Jim’s hard work and dedication leading College Possible to expand college access for students from low-income backgrounds. Our organization has grown from serving 35 students in Minnesota in 2000 to over 25,000 students at seven sites and hundreds of partner colleges across the country.

“I founded College Possible because I believe every student in America deserves a fair shot to go as far as their talents and efforts can take them,” McCorkell said. “It has been the great blessing of my life to be able to do this important work with my amazing colleagues at College Possible and beyond.”

As part of the 2019 Executive Leadership Award of Excellence, College Possible will receive $1,000 in support of a new, one-time scholarship to be made in Jim’s honor.

Congratulations to Jim and thank you for your continued leadership and dedication to College Possible’s mission!
