A New Partnership with Jules E. Mastbaum AVT High School

College Possible Philadelphia is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Jules E. Mastbaum Area Vocational Technical High School! Jules E. Mastbaum AVT is the seventh high school to partner with us. We have begun recruitment for Mastbaum’s first cohort and can’t wait to start serving students. “Many of the students I’ve been working with during the application process mention how they never really thought college was an opportunity for them until they heard our presentation and started coming to sessions,” said our high school Community Partner Team Member, Alexia, who played a major role in the recruitment process. It is this sentiment from students that fuels our mission. We at College Possible truly feel that every student should view college as a real option, rather than just an inaccessible pipe-dream.

It’s clear in working with the administration and teachers at Mastbaum, how dedicated they are in working with us to provide the upmost support for their students. Alexia recounted just how helpful the faculty and staff has been and that “College Possible is definitely starting to feel a part of the Mastbaum culture.” The strength in this relationship makes sure every student knows there’s support for them to graduate from college and achieve their dreams. One of our students, Le’Ann, wants to study foreign languages because they’ve “always loved the idea of traveling and learning new cultures.” Another student, Quaidera, said, assuredly, they want to go into pre-med to become a pediatrician. We’re devoted to ensuring these students can fully pursue all of their aspirations.

As we fully move into the new year at Mastbaum, College Possible Philadelphia is excited to have expanded our reach to a new school fully committed to working towards closing the degree divide!
