Internships

A college internship is a smart move because it can help you:

  • explore career options 
  • build general skills that can be used in many career fields
  • add experience to your résumé for your next internship or full-time employment
  • learn more about your likes, dislikes, interests and values and
  • expand your network of contacts and gain a professional reference

General Research Sites

University of Virginia Career Services lists internships nationwide.

Skidmore Career Services lets you search national, federal and diversity internships. This is also a good place to search for summer jobs.

LandIt! has jobs and internships from 30 Minnesota College and University Career Services associations.

Internjobs.com is a national database for students and recent graduates where you can search by keywords or locations.

Government Internships

Partnerships for Public Service lets you search opportunities available through the federal government.

Science Internships

Rochester Institute of Technology has a long list of science-based internships. Check often as they are constantly updating.

National Science Foundation Undergraduate Database (research opportunities for many majors!) This gives the contact information of federally funded undergraduate research opportunities many with stipend, room, board and travel reimbursements.

Summer Research Opportunities

The National Science Foundation funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Search for opportunities from Chemistry to Human Resources!

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Workforce Development provides housing allowances, transportation and stipends to do research. Great opportunities!

International Internship Opportunities

Studyabroad.com allows you to search internships by country and city.

GoAbroad.com shows you featured internships and the option to search by country.
