Community Service
Community Service

College Possible puts service at the center of its work to encourage the next generation of leaders to be active community members. Students in the program complete at least eight hours of community service a year in exchange for receiving College Possible programing for free.

Students lead college planning workshops for ninth and tenth graders, provide academic tutoring and mentoring, engage in environmental conservation and awareness projects, assist in cultural education events and more. College Possible plans an organization-wide service project in the fall for Make a Difference Day and individual projects at school sites at the end of the school year for a Spring Service Day.

Make A Difference Day
Make a Difference Day is one of only two times a year that all of our students come together in a single location. This organization-wide service event gets students in the spirit of service while giving them a chance to meet College Possible students from across their region.

Spring Service Day
Spring Service day connects students with their respective communities as each group pitches in around their school grounds and neighborhoods. Students pick up litter, pull weeds in parks, plant gardens and rake leaves for seniors.

As one of the last events of the College Possible program year, Spring Service Day is an opportunity for students and staff to reflect on their year with College Possible. It also helps students take the spirit of volunteerism with them into the summer months.
