Melissa Boocock Soderberg, Chair
Upper School Director, The Breck School

Melissa is the Upper School Director at Breck School, a private pre-K through 12 school serving students from the Greater Twin Cities area of Minnesota. In her role, Melissa serves as the headmaster to the 9th through 12th grade students, manager of the faculty and staff and operations of the Upper School. Melissa joined Breck in 1993 as Dean of Students for the Upper School. From 1988 to 1993, Melissa was Assistant College Advisor at St. George’s School in Newport, Rhode Island. Though her years in education have been heavily focused on college counseling, Melissa has also coached, taught history and regularly taken on administrative responsibilities, including disciplinary, curriculum and leadership committee assignments. Melissa is active in college admissions affairs both nationally and regionally, and is involved in the Minnesota Association of College Admission Counseling. Melissa earned her M.A. in Educational Administration from Columbia University and her B.A. from Middlebury College. The child of a headmaster, Melissa grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She and her husband, John, have two sons. Top

 

Cory Gunderson

Cory is a strategic internal, marketing, and foundation communications professional with a reputation for advancing an organization's goals through effective team leadership, cross-company collaboration, and the implementation of optimized, integrated communications strategies and tactics. She served on the Donaldson Foundation Board of Directors from 2007 - 2011 and currently serves on the College Possible Twin Cities board. Cory holds a B.A. in English from Winona State University and an MBC from the University of St. Thomas. She resides in Lakeville. Top

 

Stephanie Lilak
Vice President, General Mills

As Vice President, Chief Staffing Officer, Stephanie Lilak leads campus and experienced professional recruiting for General Mills. She is responsible for development of the GMI employment brand and enhancing relationships with key university and community partners, and champions diversity recruiting activities across all functions. Stephanie also leads HR for a variety of Corporate Functions including Human Resources and Law. Stephanie joined General Mills in 1996 as a Human Resources Manager. Over the years, she has held positions of increasing responsibility supporting a variety of divisions and functions including Sales, Manufacturing, Marketing, Marketing Research and International and in a cross functional role as a Plant Operations Manager. She holds a Masters degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Stephanie is married and the mother of four teenagers.  She is active in the local United Way. Top

 

Houa Lor
Admission Possible Alumnus, Augsburg College '13

Houa Lor is a graduate of St. Paul, Minnesota’s Central High School and is currently a student at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. Houa is an alumnus of the Admission Possible program and believes his experience with Admission Possible was the bridge connecting him with college. During his first year at Augsburg College, Houa founded the Augsburg Martial Arts Club, where he currently serves as secretary. With the Augsburg Admission Possible Alumni leadership council, Houa has helped organize events for other Admission Possible alumni so they can continue to find support, discuss issues and remain involved in their community. Houa has also become involved with the Augsburg Asian Student Association and will serve as Vice President with the organization for the next academic year. Houa currently works in the Augsburg Enrollment Center. This position requires him to work one-on-one with individuals through customer service and maintain a high level of professionalism. Houa is actively involved in the Asian American community and was on the planning committee for the Midwest Asian American Student Union 2010 Leadership Retreat. From 2006 to 2009, he taught music production to junior high students at a non-profit arts organization called In-Progress. Here Houa learned how to develop his own course curriculum and manage a recording studio. As an alumnus of the Admission Possible program, Houa helps ground the Admission Possible Board of Directors’ strategic direction with his perspective as a former participant and current college student. Kathleen MacLennan
Communications Advisor for Nonprofit Organizations

Kathleen Foye MacLennan serves on the Board for College Possible Twin Cities, and is a member of the Executive Alumni Advisory Council for Amherst College. She is also an active volunteer for a number of schools and nonprofit organizations. She specializes in crafting communications around development initiatives. Prior to her advisory role with nonprofits, she worked as a litigation attorney at Baker and McKenzie in Chicago and St. Paul Companies in Minneapolis before living in London and Geneva.

Kathleen graduated from Amherst College in 1983 and received her JD from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1987. A native of New London Conn., Kathleen has lived in Minnesota for over 15 years. Top

 

Antone Melton-Meaux

Antone Melton-Meaux is a Partner in the Minneapolis office of Jackson Lewis LLP where he leads the firm's Religious Discrimination and Accommodations practice. Antone is a sought after attorney for churches, religious organizations, and employers facing challenging workplace scenarios that call for sophisticated advice that balances legal and theological principles. Antone also represents corporate clients in a wide variety of employment litigation disputes, including discrimination, wage and hour, class actions, breach of contract, and non-competition matters. Antone began his legal career at Skadden Arps in Washington, D.C. and relocated to Minnesota in 2008. Antone earned a B.A., magna cum laude, in Religious Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a Congressional Black Caucus Fellow. Antone also holds a M.A. of Theology from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, where he was a Union Scholar and Protestant Chaplain. Antone resides in Minneapolis with his wife, Genevieve, and their two children, Ava and Xavier. Top

William Tully

Willy Tully currently works as the Program Manager for the Saint Paul VISTA Program, serving on Mayor Christopher Coleman's Education Team. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing program operations and the work of AmeriCorps VISTA members on the ground, aligning the work of members across sites with the Mayor's education initiatives. Prior to joining Mayor Coleman's staff, Willy worked for four years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities, where he developed the college access and teen engagement program as Director of Education and Enrichment. Out of college, Willy served for two years as an AmeriCorps member with Admission Possible, first at Patrick Henry High School in North Minneapolis and then at Johnson Senior High School on the east side of Saint Paul. Willy graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Economics. Willy lives in and loves Saint Paul, where he is often found at the Saint Paul Farmers' Market or in his kitchen cooking up a storm. Top
