Recognition by President Obama
President Barack Obama praised the work of College Possible at a White House event June 30, 2009, highlighting innovative programs making a difference in communities across the country.

President Obama singled out College Possible at the event, saying, “We’ve got Jim McCorkell here from [College Possible], a group that helps promising young people from low-income families attend college. Ninety-nine percent of the [College Possible] class of 2008 got into college – 99 percent. The vast majority of students stay in college and earn their degrees. Community Partnership Award
Mutual of America honored College Possible with its 2011 Community Partnership Award. The award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good. In Harmony with Hope Award 
Jim McCorkell, Founder and CEO of College Possible, received the Elfenworks Foundation's 2011 In Harmony with Hope Award for working to create substantive, meaningful and innovative change. This award recognizes creative social entrepreneurs who have developed innovative solutions to pressing societal needs that hold the promise of being replicable in communities across the country. College Access Organization Award of Excellence
College Possible is proud to receive the 2009 College Access Organization Award of Excellence. The award recognizes the work of a college access program to fulfill the National College Access Network's mission to improve access to and success in postsecondary education for first-generation, underrepresented and low-income students.

Human Relations Award
College Possible received the 2009 Human Relations award at the 65th annual National Association for College Admission Counseling conference in Baltimore, Md. This award, established in 1984, honors persons or organizations that have been instrumental in making postsecondary education opportunities available to historically underrepresented students. The 2010 winners of this annual award, in its first year, have initiated innovative, effective best practices that help low-income students get ready, get in and get through college. This book profiles real people who have performed national service and reveals the often profound impact these local heroes have made through their efforts.
