6. Compare financial aid packages and make a decision

After you've applied to college and completed the FAFSA, you will receive a financial aid package from each school you've applied to. If you've applied to several schools, you will need to compare the financial aid packages and decide which offer is the best for you, taking into account not only the aid but also how well you think the school fits you.

For more help understanding what's in your financial aid package, you can visit College Confidential.

The College Board has helpful advice on what to consider when comparing your financial aid packages from different schools. They also have a great tool to help you compare your awards side-by-side.
