We've compiled information to help you prepare for college, including tips on registering for and taking the ACT, finding and applying to colleges and scholarships and what to do about loans and the FAFSA.

These resources are intended for anyone interested in college, regardless of whether or not they are part of the College Possible program.

1. Take the ACT or SAT

The ACT and SAT are the tests used by most colleges to help decide whether to admit students or not (along with GPA, transcript, recommendations, etc.). Most four-year colleges and universities require that you take the ACT or SAT before applying. If you're not sure which test to take - or if you should take it at all - talk with a high school guidance counselor or the college admissions office.

The Princeton Review website has detailed information on the content of the ACT and SAT as well as free online practice tests.

Peterson's College Search and Number2 also have practice tests and other test prep information.

Visit the official ACT or SAT website to register for the test and to find your college or high school code. These sites also have more detailed information about the tests.
